Bleach is written and illustrated by "Noriaki Kubo" who also created mangas like Zombie Powder. He then decided to lean towards supernatural themes after inspired by his favorite manga such as "Kataro" and "Saint Saiya" from which he took the base elements. Kubo was also influenced by Dragon Ball series and he mentioned that all villains must be strong, scary and cool without exception he also added that no fight scene has shocked him more than trunk's first appearance Toriyama is more influenced to Noriaki Kubo as when the original story concept of bleach was submitted to be cliche and was actually rejected, only after Toriyama's sword story and potential, it let Toriyama write a letter of encouragement to Nariaki to keep on going and getting it published which ultimately lead to production of bleach Toriyama is one of the reasons why bleach exists.

Bleach was called snipe before the actual title was considered, it was a story which revolved around shinigami with guns and "RUKIA" was the main character with a syph because of syph and guns didn't live in the same era so it was transformed to what we love to see today. If you like to see Rukia with a badass syph then you must watch the movie "Bleach-Fade To Black".

We see a wide variety of characters in Bleach but who were they actually based of? before the finalization of characters in the Bleach universe, Kubo has visioned them quite differently to their end result or designs like Kubo designed Ichigo Kurosaki more stereotypically nerd appearance, he was meant to have glasses and he also didn't start off with orange hair but the design changed afterward considering the role Ichigo played in this anime.

Rukia was marked out as the protagonist if fact bleach was apprehended from a desire on Kubo part to draw shinigami in a kimono which formed bases for the Shinigamis in this series and the conception of the character Rukia of making her first bleach character to be conceived.

Kon was modeled after Kubo witnessed a boy at fair wanting a very cute and expensive doll but his father bought him the cheap one, the boy became so angry that he threw the doll in the garbage and  seen in bleach Kon found in an ugly and thats the inspiration he got  for creating his character.

When Kubo was in the school, he was very fascinated about designs and architecture Kubo designed all the pieces of clothing around what he would like to buy. Ichigo's T-Shirts actually sold in the store of Tokyo, which inspired the place in bleach which we call Urahara's shop.
